Several temporary detention isolators in the Tashkent region that did not meet sanitary and hygiene standards have been closed. This was reported by Upl.uz.
In June of this year, a representative of the regional ombudsman and public organizations visited temporary detention isolators under the jurisdiction of the internal affairs departments of Kuyichirchik and Chinaz districts for inspection. According to the inspection results, many deficiencies were identified.
Following the ombudsman's visit, recommendations were made to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to eliminate the identified shortcomings. As a result, repair work was carried out at the isolator under the jurisdiction of the Kuyichirchik district internal affairs department.
Ventilation and radio broadcasting equipment were installed, cells were equipped with necessary facilities, and the exercise yard and sanitary units were repaired. At the same time, due to the unsatisfactory conditions of the temporary detention isolators in Chinaz, Qibray, and Yuqorichirchik districts, their activities were completely suspended.
The Minister of Internal Affairs issued an order regarding this. This decision was made as part of measures aimed at improving humanitarian and sanitary requirements in the region.
