An accident occurred at the "Artemovskiy Rudnik" gold mining site located in the Qizilqol district, resulting in the death of an Uzbek citizen. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A 30-year-old worker was trapped under falling rock and died on the spot due to his injuries. The accident happened on August 26, 2025.
According to preliminary information, the deceased was performing drilling operations on the rock formations, which were later intended to be reinforced. It was reported that at the time of the collapse, the mine was operating as usual and there were 48 other workers underground.
Following the worker's death, the Krasnoyarsk Krai prosecutor's office initiated an inspection to verify compliance with labor protection and industrial safety legislation at the enterprise. Specialists from the regional labor inspection and Rostekhnadzor were involved in the investigation.
Currently, the possibility of opening a criminal case regarding violations of safety regulations is being considered. Safety posts have been established in the emergency zone at the mine.
This incident has once again added to the statistics of fatal accidents involving Uzbek labor migrants within the territory of the Russian Federation. Earlier, it was reported that a 34-year-old worker died after a bucket filled with cement mixture fell on his head at a construction site in the village of Novosaratovka, Leningrad region.
Another case occurred in Saint Petersburg. A 24-year-old Uzbek citizen fell from a height of 3.5 meters and died while dismantling a formwork structure in the Moscow district.
The International Labour Organization considers the mining industry one of the most dangerous sectors worldwide. Thousands of workers die in this sector annually, and non-fatal accidents number in the millions.
Therefore, ensuring occupational safety and paying special attention to labor protection at the workplace is required.
