
According to the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, official information has been provided about the number of victims and fatalities caused by the strong earthquake that occurred in recent days in the Kunar and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere condolences to the Afghan people and leaders. More than 800 people died in the earthquake, and approximately over 3,000 people sustained injuries of varying degrees.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.0 and its epicenter was located 8 kilometers deep beneath the earth's surface. After the main earthquake, 13 aftershocks were recorded.
Overall, the earthquake affected about 12,000 people and nearly 600 houses were destroyed or severely damaged. In this difficult situation caused by the disaster, Uzbekistan expresses its readiness to provide assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
