The press service of the Tashkent region customs department reported that an attempt to illegally export foreign currency has been stopped. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Additional inspection was carried out by the employees of the "Oybek" border customs post in the Tashkent region. During the inspection, it was discovered that a man trying to leave the Republic of Uzbekistan for a neighboring country had three bundles of dollars hidden in his trouser pocket, and a total of more than 30 thousand dollars in foreign currency was confiscated.
This person did not provide customs officers with written or oral information about the possession of foreign currency. Currently, an investigation is underway regarding this case.
The customs authority reminded that according to current regulations, Uzbek citizens are allowed to export cash foreign currency from the country up to the equivalent of 100 million soums, provided they comply with customs control rules.
