The press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office reported this. Employees of the Namangan regional Department, in cooperation with the National Security Service and the customs department, conducted a special rapid operation.
During the operation, an unfit building located in the "Tukuuvchi" mahalla citizens' assembly was identified, where it was revealed that a man had organized a secret drug packaging workshop. In this workshop, the conditions for storing medicines were not observed.
During the inspection, a total of 22,142 packages of 16 types of unguaranteed quality medicines were found as material evidence and confiscated. Their total value amounted to 952 million soms.
Additionally, in the "Mirishkor" MFY area of Markhamat district in Andijan region, the illegal trade of 646 types of unguaranteed quality medicines was detected, and it was found that the necessary documents for these were missing. The total value of these medicines amounted to 136.9 million soms.
In both cases, criminal proceedings were initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan titled “Production, purchase, storage, transportation or sale of unguaranteed quality or counterfeit medicines, sale of medicines outside pharmacies, as well as improper retail sale of medicines containing potent substances by prescription.” These operations are being carried out to protect public health and combat illegal drug trade.
