As usual, I was sitting at work. I received a message from my spouse. It was about someone being hospitalized and asking if it was okay for me to go and translate since they didn't know Japanese very well. I went and came back.
After returning, I asked about the situation on the phone. The woman is over 30 years old and has two children. She studies and works at a Japanese language school in Tokyo. She works in a store from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. After leaving the store, she goes to school. Classes end at 1:30 PM, and she works at a company from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Can you imagine? There’s no time for sleep or rest. In such a regime, it’s natural for anyone to fall ill!
As I was thinking, "Poor woman is struggling alone to support her children, doesn't she have a husband or brother?", I found out that her husband is there. He is neither disabled nor mentally ill; he is a healthy man. Hearing this, I was shocked. The wife is working like a slave in Japan sending money, while the husband is in Uzbekistan, staying with the children, and casually buying a house and a car with installment payments.
In-laws: "Daughter-in-law, you are capable. Your husband can't handle heavy work," they sent him to Japan. Unbelievable! I hear that there are several such cases in Japan alone. Let’s not even mention Russia and Turkey.
Oh, what is happening with the honor of men? What is happening to pride? Since when has it become normal for a man to send his wife, mother, sister away and shamelessly spend her money?
Once, we were a nation that couldn't even tolerate a man leaving his wife in Uzbekistan for years. Now, should we also get used to the opposite? Absolutely not.
In my childhood, a neighbor's son had just gotten married. I overheard him telling his father, "I'm going to Russia." His father replied, "You can go to Russia, but who will you leave your wife with?" That young man never mentioned Russia again. There’s no problem with going for a short time or taking her along. However, let’s not damage the institution of family like this, may they be blessed.
