What is the amount set for the zakat nisab, fitra, and fidya for the month of Ramadan?
The Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan announced the zakat nisab, fitra charity, and fidya amount for the month of Ramadan in 2025.
The Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has set the zakat nisab for this year's Ramadan at approximately 85 grams based on the value of 585 gold, which amounts to 61 million 200 thousand soums.
“Accordingly, anyone who has at least 61 million 200 thousand soums in cash or commercial goods worth this amount, beyond their essential needs, will give one-fortieth (2.5%) of their total wealth as zakat to those entitled,” the religious authority stated.
Additionally, the amount of fitra charity has been determined as follows:
- ≈2 kg of wheat flour – 10,000 (ten thousand) soums;
- ≈4 kg of barley – 16,000 (sixteen thousand) soums;
- ≈2 kg of raisins – 110,000 (one hundred ten thousand) soums;
- ≈4 kg of dates – 180,000 (one hundred eighty thousand) soums.
Everyone can give any one of these four products or its equivalent value as fitra charity according to their ability.
The amount of fidya for one day will be the same as the amount of fitra charity.
Therefore, everyone can give any one of these four products or its equivalent value as fidya according to their ability, the Fatwa Center noted.
