A serious incident occurred in the city of Samarkand. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A 16-year-old girl, who had come from abroad, died after a nose surgery. This incident attracted widespread public attention, and the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation to examine all the circumstances of the event.
According to available information, the schoolgirl had been living abroad for permanent residence and education, and visited her grandfather's house in Samarkand for a vacation. The girl experienced breathing problems, which led to the need for surgical intervention.
On July 1, the girl was admitted to the ENT department of the regional hospital with her grandfather and underwent surgery. Several hours after the start of the surgical procedure, the patient's condition sharply deteriorated, resulting in her death.
The deceased girl's grandfather expressed concern about the actions of the medical staff. He emphasized that he had not received information about the progress of the operation for a long time and was told that his granddaughter had not yet regained consciousness.
After waiting for about an hour and a half, a group of doctors entered the operating room with special equipment, and then the girl was taken out connected to an oxygen machine. According to the grandfather, the girl had already died at that time, and her death was due to medical error.
The girl's relatives explain the cause of death as a tampon being left in the airways, leading to asphyxiation. Hospital representatives confirmed that the patient's condition worsened after the surgery and that she died, but did not go into details.
In connection with the incident, the regional prosecutor's office has appointed a forensic medical examination to determine the cause of death. At the same time, preliminary investigations and service checks are being conducted to study all circumstances and evaluate the actions of the medical staff.
