Eldor Shomurodov now plays in the USA!

The new president of the Italian Serie A, Ezio Simonelli, is promoting a new idea to further enhance the league's prestige.
According to a reputable source – ESPN journalists – the league leader raised the issue of holding championship matches involving top division teams outside the country, specifically on US soil.
- We want to be the first league to organize national championship matches in the USA. This will be a market we have great confidence in. Currently, nine out of the 20 teams in Serie A are owned by Americans, and one by Canadians. We have other buyers as well, - said Ezio Simonelli.
Italy's Serie A is considered one of the most powerful leagues in world football. Specifically, in the UEFA coefficient table, Serie A ranks third after the English and Spanish championships.
This competition has been organized since 1898. Initially, it was held regionally in groups. Since 1929, the competition format has changed to its current form.
The first team established in Italy is "Genoa." This team was the first champion of Serie A and has won the league three times in a row. Interestingly, "Genoa" is not unfamiliar to football fans from Uzbekistan. The captain of the Uzbekistan national team, Eldor Shomurodov, began his career at the Genoa club in Italy.
In October 2020, the Uzbek footballer transferred from the Russian Premier League's "Rostov" to "Genoa," scoring eight goals in 31 matches and making a name for himself among Italian fans and experts.
Today, "Genoa" is also owned by Americans. Additionally, "Inter," "Roma," "Milan," "Fiorentina," "Atalanta," "Bologna," "Venice," and "Parma" are also owned by American businessmen.
Specifically, the "Roma" club, where Eldor Shomurodov plays, is financed by American businessmen – the Friedkin family.
It is worth noting that if Serie A decides to hold matches in the USA, all club owners will fully support this idea. In fact, certain work is being done to organize Serie A matches in the USA, and a positive resolution to this issue is expected.
Thus, if the change occurs, Eldor Shomurodov will also be able to showcase his skills on American fields.
In this context, it is worth recalling that on the eve of the closing of the summer transfer window, our legionnaire had the opportunity to move to the US championship. MLS's "Atlanta United" made serious efforts to acquire Eldor Shomurodov. However, the then head coach of "Roma," Daniele de Rossi, decided to keep the Uzbek player in the team.
Eldor Shomurodov has played in 26 matches across all tournaments this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
