Igor Korneev, a former member of the Russian national team coaching staff, shared his thoughts on the Iranian national team ahead of a friendly match. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It has been announced that the Russian and Iranian national teams will play a friendly match on October 10. Korneev specifically highlighted two forwards from the Iranian national team.
They are Serdar Azmoun and Mehdi Taremi. Serdar Azmoun has played in the Russian championship for a long time and is currently representing the UAE's "Shabab Al-Ahli" club.
Mehdi Taremi, on the other hand, plays for Italy's "Inter" team. According to Korneev, Azmoun is a well-known player who possesses all the necessary qualities as a complete forward.
However, he is not as technically strong as Taremi. Mehdi Taremi stands out for his cunning on the field, delicate play, ability to hold the ball, and effective use of situations.
For reference, the Russian and Iranian national teams have played three friendly matches against each other so far. In one of them, Iran won 1:0, while the other two matches ended in a 1:1 draw.
Thus, the competition between the teams continues.
