Semak blamed the first goal conceded to Spartak

Sports07:21, 17-08-2025

Zenit head coach Sergey Semak emphasized that Gustavo Mantuan was to blame for the first goal conceded during the fifth round RPL match against Moscow Spartak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

At that time, Zenit was leading 1-0 thanks to a goal scored by Mateo Cassierra. However, due to Mantuan's defensive mistakes, Marquinhos scored the equalizer.

According to the coach, the first goal was Mantuan's error, as he is primarily an attacking player. He has been playing for a long time, but sometimes such situations occur.

Additionally, the Zenit coach noted that the team's main foreign players are currently not in their best form. The match ended with a 2-2 draw.

In the second half, Zenit played with a numerical disadvantage after Douglas Santos was sent off with a red card, but despite this, the team managed to secure one point.
