Valeriy Filatov, a member of the board of directors of the Lokomotiv team, responded to a question about the club being one of the main contenders for the Russian championship this season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, Lokomotiv is definitely fighting for the championship. Filatov stated that the rivals still need to catch up with the team, so the chance of winning is real.

Currently, Lokomotiv leads the Russian Premier League standings. After five rounds, they have accumulated 13 points and have not suffered any defeats yet.

Under the leadership of head coach Mikhail Galaktionov, the players are showing good results. In the next round, Lokomotiv will host Rostov.

This match will take place on August 23. It is also worth noting that Lokomotiv last won the Russian championship title in 2018.

The team's fans and experts are expecting high results this season as well.
