Uzbekistan national team may hold a friendly match against Kazakhstan

There is a possibility that the Uzbekistan national team will hold a match against Kazakhstan in the fall. According to the source, the Football Federation of Uzbekistan is conducting effective negotiations to organize a friendly match with the Uzbekistan national team.
The game is planned to take place during the international break in November. The Kazakhstan national team is scheduled to play its last match of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Belgium on November 15, after which a free date will arise for the team, and at that time, there is a possibility to organize a match with Uzbekistan.
The national teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan last met on November 16, 2022, in Tashkent. At that time, Uzbekistan won 2:0.
It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan national team is close to qualifying for the World Cup finals for the first time. Uzbekistan is currently in second place in the tournament table that grants direct qualification to the World Cup with 17 points. Before the end of the qualifying stage, Uzbekistan will play two matches – away against the UAE (June 5) and at home against Qatar (June 10).
Earlier, the interim head coach of the Kazakhstan national team, Ali Aliyev, stated that if Kazakhstan had been in the Asian Football Confederation, it would have qualified for the World Cup finals like Uzbekistan.
