Last weekend, one of the most important matches of the Chilean championship – the Santiago derby – took place. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In this match, the "Colo-Colo" team, previously known not only in the country but also worldwide, faced the "Universidad de Chile" team. In the final minutes of the game, specifically ten minutes before the end, Vicente Pizarro scored a goal, bringing victory to the "Colo-Colo" team.
However, this victory was overshadowed by a tragic incident among the spectators. A fan, while trying to change his seat, fell for an unknown reason and sustained serious injuries.
Doctors tried to assist the 31-year-old victim, but unfortunately, they were unable to save his life. This incident did not cause the match on the football field to be stopped.
After the game, "Colo-Colo" team captain Arturo Vidal expressed deep sorrow over this loss on social media and emphasized how difficult it is to experience such tragedies. Football fans and team members are extending their condolences to the victim's family.
This incident once again reminded everyone of the importance of safety measures at sporting events.
