Neves has tattooed an image of him embracing Jota on his leg. Diogo Jota tragically passed away last summer in a car accident along with his brother.
Jota’s family gave his number 21 jersey from the Portugal national team specifically to Neves, as they were very close friends. Jota played for Liverpool wearing number 20, but after his death, the club retired this number permanently and dedicated it to Jota.
Additionally, Neves and Jota previously played together at England’s Wolverhampton club. This event is regarded in the football world as a symbol of friendship and loyalty.
