Lithuanian national team drew in the last minute

In the fifth round of the World Cup qualifying stage, the Lithuanian and Maltese national teams fought evenly to secure their first victory. Euro-football.ru reported on this.

The match was intense, with many yellow cards issued, but few goals scored. Only in the 83rd minute did Alexander Satariano open the scoring – 0:1.

In the final minutes of the game, Jake Atsopardi was sent off. In the seventh minute of added time, Gvidas Gvineytis equalized from a penalty – 1:1.

At the end of the match, Edgaras Utkus was also sent off. The Maltese team remains at the bottom of the table, unable to move up from the last place.

This result did not change the situation in the qualifying group. The match between Lithuania and Malta was even and exciting, but neither side managed to win.
