
In the fifth round of the World Cup qualifying stage, the Lithuanian and Maltese national teams fought evenly to secure their first victory. Euro-football.ru reported on this.

In the final minutes of the game, Jake Atsopardi was sent off. In the seventh minute of added time, Gvidas Gvineytis equalized from a penalty – 1:1.
