The head coach of the Italian national team, Gennaro Gattuzo, shared his thoughts about the debut match against Estonia. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In an interview with Football Italia, he spoke about the preparation for the team's upcoming matches. Gattuzo mentioned that his team's tactics might differ from the previous coach's and emphasized that numbers are not important.
He said: “We know what to do and have prepared well. Ahead of us is tomorrow's game and then the match against Israel.” The coach called on the fans to be ready for a tough game.
He highlighted that he studied Estonia for two months and noted that if pressure is not applied, they can attack effectively. Although Estonia usually has four defenders, they switch to five and pose a threat with quick counterattacks.
Gattuzo reminded that the game will not be easy and that there are never easy matches. It is also worth noting that the previous head coach, Luciano Spalletti, was dismissed after a defeat to Norway.
This loss complicated the task of qualifying for the World Cup. The current coach is striving to lead the team to new heights.
