Midfielder Davide Frattesi of Milan's "Inter" team could have transferred to England's "Newcastle" club before the transfer window closed. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
"Newcastle" made a verbal offer to loan the Italian footballer with the option to buy later for 35-40 million euros, journalist Matteo Moretto reports. "Nerazzurri" agreed to this amount, but the Serie A club's management preferred a direct transfer or an option with an obligatory purchase.
The parties could not reach an agreement, and official negotiations did not begin. It is also noted that "Inter" and Davide Frattesi himself did not forcibly demand this deal.
In the near future, the club will discuss extending the contract term with the 25-year-old midfielder. This situation indicates that preparations are underway to make a decision about the player's future.
