Former head coach of the Russian national team Boris Ignatyev explained the reasons for the weak performance in the first half of the friendly match against Jordan. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The match took place in Moscow and ended with a score of 0:0. The Jordanian team outperformed Russia in key indicators, particularly in the number of shots on goal.
According to Ignatyev, in the first half, the Russian players either tried to study the team or did not pay enough attention to Jordan's strength. The specialist said this in an interview with the Metaratings website.
He also emphasized that the changes introduced by coach Valery Karpin in the second half revived the team's play. This created an opportunity to achieve victory.
In the first half, the shots on goal statistics were 8-3 in favor of Jordan, and accurate shots were 4-1. From the Russian national team, only Dmitry Vorobyov troubled the opposing goalkeeper.
Overall, the team was unable to fully demonstrate its strength in the first half.
