The central midfielder of the "Chelsea" team, Dario Essugu, will not be able to help the London club for a while. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

This was reported by The Athletic publication. The midfielder suffered an injury to his thigh while playing for the Portugal youth national team.

According to the source, Essugu may return to the field in at least three months. Essugu transferred to "Chelsea" this summer.

He was bought from the "Sporting" club for 22 million euros. Wearing the English club's kit, Essugu appeared in three matches at the club world championship but did not stand out with effective performances.

After the first three rounds of the English Premier League, "Chelsea" is in second place in the standings with eight points. The team is raising fans' hopes with its play and results.

Although Essugu's injury is a significant blow to the team, he is expected to recover soon and return to the field.
