Why couldn't Abbosbek Fayzullayev move to "Benfica"?

Abbosbek Fayzullayev's transfer to Portugal's Benfica club did not take place, Kursiv.media reported. This was mentioned by the player's representative, German Tkachenko, head of Pro Sports Management, in an interview with Sport24.
According to Tkachenko, the representatives of Benfica clearly stated at the beginning of the negotiations that they would not cooperate with Russian clubs.
“We talked about Fayzullayev, but they immediately said, ‘We do not work with the Russians.’ After that, the connections were severed,” Tkachenko said.
He noted that unlike Benfica, some European clubs are softening their stance towards Russian players and clubs. For example, Javier Izidor moved to Sunderland, and goalkeeper Matvey Safonov transferred to PSG.
Additionally, the transfer of Braga club player Salasar to Zenit or Spartak was planned, but the agreement did not materialize due to legal risk factors.
Tkachenko emphasized that although the European transfer market has not fully recovered yet, relations with Russia are gradually changing.
