The Turkish club "Fenerbahce" considered seven candidates for the head coach position, one of whom was Domenico Tedesco, who was ultimately appointed to lead the team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The club president Ali Koch provided this information. He had previously spoken about hoping to win the championship title this season.
According to the club leader, they interviewed 7-8 coaches and mainly favored representatives of the German school. They also did not want to hear the names of Portuguese coaches.
The list of candidates included Roger Schmidt, Luciano Spalletti, Filipe Luis, Sebastian Hynes, Marco Rose, and Edin Terzic. However, in the end, the choice was made in favor of Domenico Tedesco.
Tedesco won the German Cup with the German team "Leipzig". He is also remembered for having a conflict with Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper from Madrid's "Real" club, while working with the Belgium national team.
