Napoli head coach Antonio Conte spoke about the reason why he was forced to substitute Kevin de Bruyne during the Champions League match against Manchester City (0:2). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The Belgian player's return to the Etihad Stadium did not go well, but it was not his fault in this case. In the 21st minute of the game, Giovanni di Lorenzo left the field, and in the 26th minute, Conte brought defender Matias Olivera on in place of de Bruyne.

According to the coach, there was no other choice, and he expressed that he felt very sorry for Kevin. Although de Bruyne was playing against his former team, he fully understood the situation.

This substitution was a difficult but necessary decision for the coach. Manchester City won the match thanks to goals scored by Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku in the second half.
