Wojciech Szczesny, the goalkeeper of Barcelona, expressed satisfaction with his role as a backup player. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He emphasized that he is dedicated to helping the team. On Thursday, the team led by Hans-Dieter Flick defeated Newcastle 2-1 away in the first round of the Champions League group stage.

The "blue-purple" team's goalkeeper Joan Garcia saved all six shots and showed a confident performance. Szczesny noted that he remains Joan Garcia's backup goalkeeper and helps him prepare for important matches.

Joan is already among Europe's best goalkeepers, but Szczesny aims to prepare him to perform at the highest level. He wants to contribute to the team and to Joan's success.

Joan Garcia transferred from Espanyol to Barcelona last summer.
