
The Faroe Islands national team hosted the Czech Republic national team in the penultimate match of the World Cup qualifiers. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
At the end of the first half, Václav Jemelka took the ball from Tomáš Souček and passed it from the left wing of the penalty area to the center. Matěj Vydra kicked the ball with his foot but failed to direct it towards the goal.
Václav Černý crossed the ball from the right wing far towards the goalkeeper, but the shot given by the defender was ineffective. In the middle of the second half, the hosts launched a good quick attack.
Jakup Andreasen took the ball at the left corner of the penalty area and quickly passed along the line. Hanus Sørensen delivered an accurate shot to the far corner from the goalkeeper and opened the score – 1:0.
In the 78th minute, Michal Beran sent the ball into the opponent's penalty area. After Ladislav Krejčí's header pass, Tomáš Chorý passed to Adam Karabec, who deceived the goalkeeper with a soft shot from six meters and equalized the score – 1:1.
Immediately, Krejčí made an incorrect header pass, Meinhard Olsen left the goalkeeper behind and passed the ball into the empty goal. Martin Agnarsson did not miss the opportunity and brought the score to 2:1.
After a corner kick, the ball reached the far corner, but Jan Hromada's shot went over the goalpost. In the group, the Croatian team leads with 13 points from five matches.
The Czech Republic also has the same number of points, while the Faroe Islands have one point less. Both the Czech Republic and the Faroe Islands have played seven matches.
