Flick wanted to exclude Yamal from the PSG match

Sports13:05, 17-10-2025

Barcelona's young forward Lamin Yamal was not supposed to start in the Champions League match against PSG. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

This information was reported by sources from El Nacional and Cadena SER. According to the sources, Yamal was late to training, so head coach Hans-Dieter Flick planned to exclude him from the lineup.

However, the club management intervened in this decision, pressured Flick, and forced him to field Yamal. The German coach was dissatisfied with this situation, emphasizing that it could severely undermine discipline.

Afterwards, Flick held a serious conversation with the management, demanding full recognition of his authority. Inside the club, these reports are being denied.

In the current season, 18-year-old Yamal has appeared in five matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
