Ugarov: Curaçao and Cape Verde should have played against Russia

Denis Ugarov, a former player of the "Zenit" team, shared his thoughts on the qualification of the Curaçao and Cape Verde national teams for the final stage of the 2026 World Cup. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He gave an interview to the publication "Euro-Football.Ru," as reported by euro-football.ru. According to Ugarov, these teams "should" have played against the Russian national team before qualifying for the World Cup final stage.

He emphasized that through this, the true level of the Curaçao and Cape Verde teams would have been determined. In Ugarov's opinion, only the Russian national team can provide such an assessment.

It is known that the Curaçao team, coached by Dick Advocaat, will play in Group E of the 2026 World Cup against Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast. Cape Verde will compete in Group H against Spain, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia.

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This tournament is expected to generate great interest among football fans.
