Klopp is creating a new league for young football players in Germany

Jurgen Klopp is working on an initiative to establish a new youth league in Germany. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This project aims to facilitate the transition of young footballers to the professional level. Through the U21 league, talented players will have the opportunity to gain experience before advancing to the Bundesliga.
Klopp is actively involved in this project as part of a special expert group formed by the German Football League (DFL). This group includes experienced specialists such as world champion Sami Khedira, Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche, DFL head Mark Lenz, and German Football Federation (DFB) sports director Andreas Rettig.
This project is of great importance for German football because, according to statistics, it is becoming increasingly difficult for young German players to break into top-level football. For example, among the 100 most effective football academies in Europe, only 9 clubs are from Germany.
Additionally, the majority of playing minutes in the Bundesliga belong to foreign players, with the share of homegrown players being very low. The new U21 league is planned to launch in the 2026/27 season.
According to the main rules of the league, participation will be voluntary. Matches may initially be held without spectators to reduce costs.
Fan attendance may be considered during the final stage. The league format will be similar to the Champions League, with each team playing at least 6 matches.
Jurgen Klopp’s role in the project is connected to his experience within the football system. Currently, he works as a global director within the Red Bull system.
If this project is implemented, German football could increase its capacity to develop new talents. Klopp’s involvement raises great hopes for the success of the initiative.
