Sports18:47, 28-01-2026

Former Russian national team player Maksim Demenco assessed who the main contenders for the championship are in the current UEFA Champions League season. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was reported by euro-football.ru. According to Demenco, it is not easy to clearly identify the favorites this season, as some major clubs are not in as strong form as before.

Nevertheless, the expert specifically highlighted Barcelona as a team that has been showing reliable performance throughout the season. He also mentioned that he always sees Real Madrid as a team that fights until the very end for all trophies.

According to Demenco, Liverpool is consistently one of the main contenders in the tournament. Currently, after seven rounds of the UEFA Champions League group stage, the top eight teams in the tournament table are Arsenal, Bayern, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Tottenham, PSG, Newcastle, and Chelsea.

These teams are mentioned as the main contenders for the championship due to their strong performances. It is worth noting that the current Champions League winner is the French club PSG.

They secured the championship last season by defeating Inter with a large 5:0 victory in the final.
