The President of the UFA aimed to digitize football

On January 30, 2023, the next reporting and election congress of the Uzbekistan Football Association was held in Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the event, the delegates once again elected Bahodir Qurbonov, Head of the State Security Service and Colonel General, as the President of the Uzbekistan Football Association. Qurbonov provided information at the meeting about the work carried out on digitalizing football until 2025 and the tasks set for the current year.
He emphasized that the more the "human factor" is reduced in the football sector, the more transparency increases, which will be reflected in future results on the international stage. One of Qurbonov's main initiatives was the "National Football Electronic Platform" project.
Through this platform, a unified database about football players will be created. Previously, due to the absence of such a system, clubs could not fully utilize their legal and economic opportunities.
From now on, every child and coach coming to football schools will be electronically registered, and the development of the player will be regularly monitored. Additionally, the platform will provide clubs with the opportunity to earn income through FIFA transfer mechanisms.
At the congress, Qurbonov also paid special attention to refereeing issues. He noted that the Football Referees Academy was established to ensure fairness and increase transparency in matches.
Furthermore, he mentioned plans to form and expand a team of female referees. Problems in football schools and academies were also criticized.
In particular, it was stated that transparency in the selection of young players is insufficient, and negative phenomena such as nepotism and localism occur. To address these problems, a new scientifically based selection system will be created, and the selection processes will be made transparent.
The main conclusion of the meeting is that the Uzbekistan Football Association is moving away from paperwork towards digital transparency and systematic control. If these plans are fully implemented, they will not only improve today's results but also serve to nurture a strong generation of football players in the future.
