Kannavaro: "Controversial cases should be resolved through the system"

Another controversial situation has arisen in Italian football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the 25th round of Serie A, the match between "Inter" and "Juventus" ended with a 3:2 victory for the Milanese team. However, the main discussion after the game was more about the refereeing decisions than the result.
Especially, the episode involving Alessandro Bastoni remained at the center of discussions. The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Cannavaro, also expressed his opinion on this matter.
He opposed the calls to exclude Bastoni from the national team. According to Cannavaro, such situations are part of football, and the problem should be resolved through the system.
He proposed introducing a mechanism that can correct mistakes in time rather than punishment. The controversial episode occurred in the 42nd minute of the game.
"Juventus" defender Pierre Kalulu committed a dangerous action against Bastoni due to an unclear pass. Bastoni fell to the ground showing that there was contact.
Referee Federico La Penna showed Kalulu a second yellow card, and "Juventus" was left with one player less. Bastoni's visible joy after the opponent was sent off caused dissatisfaction among the fans.
Cannavaro emphasized that in this situation, attention should be paid to the system rather than emotions. In his opinion, since VAR technology exists, it should be fully utilized.
Currently, the protocol does not allow this fully, which is why mistakes continue. Cannavaro proposed that VAR rules be changed promptly without delay.
He noted that the system needs to be improved in the future to reduce such conflicts. Debate and drama are natural in football, but they should not negatively affect the championship results.
According to Cannavaro, the problem should be solved not by personal punishments but by changes in the system. Now the main question is whether these calls will prompt changes to the VAR rules or will they be postponed again?
