Luis Enrique: Chelsea is a more convenient opponent for PSG

Sports14:34, 22-02-2026

PSG head coach Luis Enrique shared his thoughts on which opponent would be more favorable for his team in the Champions League round of 16. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to euro-football.ru, if the Paris club defeats Monaco in the initial playoff stage, they will face either Barcelona or Chelsea in the next round.

PSG managed to win the first away match against Monaco with a score of 3-2. In his comments, Luis Enrique paid special attention to Barcelona's playing style and strengths.

In his opinion, Barcelona's ball control ability, high pressing, and experienced players in the squad make the team more dangerous. For this reason, he considers Chelsea to be a relatively more convenient opponent for the next stage.

The coach emphasized that playing against Barcelona is not only a challenge for his own team but also feels like a battle against a football philosophy, which makes the task even more difficult. For reference, the Champions League round of 16 matches are scheduled to take place in March.
