Laporta: Xavi demanded rebuilding Barcelona

Joan Laporta, former president of the "Barcelona" club, recalled the period when Xavi left his position as head coach of the team in 2024. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He mentioned that Xavi lacked experience, but emphasized that Xavi gained experience while working in Qatar. Ultimately, Laporta trusted Xavi, but the results were not as expected.

Laporta also added that Xavi's opinions influenced the club's approach. When he asked Xavi whether he had confidence in the team, the coach replied "100 percent."

However, during the past season, Xavi changed his mind and stated that Barcelona would not be competitive for another two years. Laporta also recalled his conversation with sporting director Deco.

According to Deco, Xavi requested to replace 10 players in the squad. Laporta conveyed this information to the public through Catalunya Radio.

It is worth noting that in the summer of 2024, Hans-Dieter Flick was appointed as the new head coach of "Barcelona".
