Messi could have also played for the Spain national team

Lionel Messi revealed that he could have played not only for the Argentina national team but also for the Spain national team. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was reported by the euro-football.ru website. According to Messi, during the early period of his career at Barcelona, this matter was seriously discussed at one point.

He also received offers to play for the Spain national team. This situation is usually observed with many other footballers as well.

Messi said about this: "I am Argentine, but I moved to Barcelona at a very young age and received my main football training at their academy. Therefore, the opportunity to play for the Spain national team really existed.

However, my heart has always belonged to Argentina." Messi expressed these thoughts on the Miro De Atras program.

As a reminder, Lionel Messi won the World Cup in 2022 as part of the Argentina national team.
