Europa League: Nottingham, Bologna and Celta advance!
The return matches for qualification to the Europa League Round of 16 have concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

In this stage, football fans had the opportunity to witness true sporting excitement, intense competition, and dramatic moments. While some teams achieved their goals with minimal victories, others advanced through challenging matches.

These games once again confirmed how intense the Europa League competition is. One of the most notable matches took place in England.

Nottingham Forest hosted Turkey’s Fenerbahce at home. Although the hosts lost the match 1-2, they advanced to the next round thanks to a 3-0 advantage secured in the first leg.

In the game, Hadson-Odoi scored the only goal for Nottingham Forest, while Akturkoglu netted two goals (one from a penalty) for Fenerbahce, but it was not enough to change the aggregate score. In Italy, Bologna defeated Norway’s Brann 1-0.

The hosts played confidently and secured their place in the next round thanks to Joao Mario’s lone goal. The situation became even more difficult for the visitors after Norwegian player Sorensen received a red card in the 37th minute.

Bologna had also won the first leg 1-0. In Spain, Celta secured a 1-0 victory against PAOK.

The hosts played cautiously and won thanks to Svedberg’s goal in the 63rd minute. Celta had also won the first match 2-1, thus advancing to the next stage.

The most intense and dramatic match took place in Belgium between Genk and Zagreb’s Dinamo. The game ended in a 3-3 draw.

For Genk, Sor, Dzyunya, and Heymans scored goals, while Bakrar and Stojkovic (both from penalties) scored for Dinamo. However, Stojkovic’s red card in the 103rd minute created a difficult situation for the visitors.

Having won the first leg 3-1, Genk maintained their advantage and advanced to the next round. According to the final results of the Europa League return matches, Nottingham Forest, Bologna, Celta, and Genk secured their places in the Round of 16.

Now the more exciting phase of the competition – the quarterfinal matches – lie ahead. Fans can look forward to even more thrilling and intense battles.
