Russia national team match venue selection explained

The Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFS), Maksim Mitrofanov, explained why the Russian national team's friendly matches against Nicaragua and Mali are being held in the cities of Krasnodar and Saint Petersburg. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to euro-football.ru, Mitrofanov stated that this decision was made based on several factors.
Among them, climatic conditions were also taken into account. He emphasized that it is important for the matches to be held in conditions favorable to the players' preparation, as well as to organize a true football celebration for the spectators.
It is known that the match between Russia and Nicaragua will take place on March 27 in Krasnodar, and the game against Mali will be held on March 31 in Saint Petersburg. It was noted that neither of the two opposing teams participating in these matches qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in North America.
