Two football players are suspected of illegal activities in Turkey

Two football players who are members of the Turkish clubs "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahce" may face serious legal problems. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by euro-football.ru. The matter concerns "Galatasaray" player Metehan Baltadji and "Fenerbahce" captain Mert Hakan Yandash.
Each of them is suspected of involvement in illegal activities. It is said that Baltadji may face up to 13 years, and Yandash up to 17 years of imprisonment.
According to the Turkish publication "Sabah," Metehan Baltadji placed bets on matches involving "Galatasaray" at least twice. Although he was not in the starting lineup for these matches, he was included in the squad list.
For this reason, it is considered that he may have had the potential to influence the outcome of the games. According to current legislation, professional athletes who wish to engage in bookmaker activities must officially report this.
However, it was found that Metehan Baltadji did not fulfill this obligation. Therefore, legal measures may be taken against him.
This situation once again demonstrates the serious attention being paid to sports and legislative matters in Turkey.
