Football players in Turkey may face imprisonment due to betting scandal
A major scandal is unfolding in Turkish football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Players from "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahce" face the risk of imprisonment due to violations related to betting. This was reported by *euro-football.ru*.

The issue concerns "Galatasaray" defender Metehan Baltadji and "Fenerbahce" captain Mert Hakan Yandash. According to the *Sabah* publication, Baltadji may face up to 13 years, and Yandash up to 17 years of imprisonment.

It is said that Baltadji placed bets on matches involving "Galatasaray" at least twice. Although he did not play in the starting lineup in those matches, since he was on the team roster, he had the potential to indirectly influence the match outcomes.

According to Turkish legislation, professional athletes must clearly indicate their status on betting platforms. However, it is noted that the players did not comply with this requirement.

This situation may negatively affect the players' futures. Such violations in the sports field can lead to serious consequences and damage the reputation of Turkish football.
