New Head Coach Appointed for Morocco National Team

With only a few months left until the World Cup, significant changes have taken place in Moroccan football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has accepted the resignation of the national team head coach Walid Regragui. Under Regragui's leadership, the team reached the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup and participated in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mohamed Wahbi has been appointed as the new head coach. The 49-year-old specialist has so far been effectively working with Morocco's youth teams.
Notably, under his management, the U-20 national team became world champions in 2025. Wahbi has been one of the experienced coaches leading the country's U-20 and U-23 teams since 2022.
In the 2026 World Cup, the Morocco national team has been placed in a group with strong opponents such as Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland. The main task set for the new coach is to prepare the team for the World Cup in a short time and successfully advance from the group stage.
