Ivan Elgera criticized the "Real" coaching change
Former "Real Madrid" defender Ivan Elgera expressed his critical views on the coaching changes at the club. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He called the dismissal of Xabi Alonso a hasty and unjustified decision on the "Bajo Palos" podcast. According to Elgera, under Alonso's leadership, the team was showing a very organized and solid performance, especially in defense.
The former player emphasized that it is difficult to understand the decisions of the club management. In his opinion, an experienced specialist was needed to work at a major club like "Real Madrid".
Elgera specifically noted that Raul, who managed "Castilla" for many years, is more suitable for this position, as he understands the club's environment and values well. Additionally, Ivan Elgera expressed doubts about the appointment of Alvaro Arbeloa.
He considers it illogical to involve a coach without top-division experience in the main squad. According to Elgera, this situation is another mistake and senseless decision for "Real Madrid".
