
The Asian Weightlifting Championship, ongoing in Jiangshan, China, has seen members of the Uzbekistan national team once again showcase their high potential, bringing home more medals for our country. This time, among the medalists are two talented compatriots — Rigina Adashbayeva and Madina Fayzullayeva.
Specifically, Rigina Adashbayeva, competing in the -81 kg weight category, recorded a lift of 104 kilograms in the snatch competitions, earning a bronze medal with this result. Additionally, she secured another bronze medal in the clean and jerk with a total of 224 kilograms, becoming a double medalist.
Another talented athlete from our team, Madina Fayzullayeva, also demonstrated her strength by successfully lifting 121 kilograms in the clean and jerk. As a result, Madina entered the top three in her weight category and was awarded a bronze medal.
According to the Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation, the successful participation of our young athletes in such prestigious competitions indicates the high level of attention and conditions provided for this sport in the country. Such results, in turn, inspire hope for achieving high placements in future prestigious international competitions, particularly the World Championship and the Olympic Games.
It is noted that more medals are expected from the members of the Uzbekistan national team in the ongoing championship in China. Federation officials express confidence that in the remaining days of the competition, our other athletes will also secure places among the winners and medalists.
