On the eve of the World Cup qualifying matches, the visit of doping officers to the hotel where the Uzbekistan national team is staying has sparked widespread discussions. To clarify the existing questions, the chairman of the Medical Committee of the Uzbekistan Football Association and the chief physician of Lokomotiv PFC, Abror Pirriyev, provided an official comment.
He emphasized that such inspections are a common and regulated practice in international football. Doping control is one of the requirements of FIFA, especially before important competitions like the qualifiers, and its implementation falls under the responsibility of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Anticipated inspection before important matches
According to Pirriyev, such tests have been introduced to ensure fair competition, professional ethics, and transparency in the sport. He stated that surprise inspections are a practice based on international experience, conducted not only during the game but also during training processes.
“Personally, I have participated in such processes several times as a doping officer appointed by FIFA and AFC. This serves to guarantee the health of the players, fair competition, and adherence to the rules of the game,” said Abror Pirriyev.
Ignore baseless rumors
Pirriyev noted that it is natural for various rumors and suspicions to arise around sports. However, the most appropriate approach is to direct all attention and emotion towards the actions in the stadium and supporting the players.
“Currently, our players bear a great responsibility. In such a situation, the best support will be trust, assistance, and a positive atmosphere. Therefore, we, like all fans, need to stand by our team and encourage them on the field,” the specialist emphasized.
Conclusion: control is the guarantee of fairness and transparency
As our national team reaches a crucial stage in qualifying for the World Cup finals, it is inappropriate to view official practices like doping tests with suspicion. This is an international requirement aimed at ensuring transparency in football.
Moreover, instead of any dubious reports, heartfelt support will be the most important factor for our national team. Let’s believe in fair competition on the field and continue to show confidence in our national team.
