Russia national team may return to the World Cup

According to media reports, there is information that the Russian national team may participate in the 2026 World Cup. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

It is said that this possibility may occur if the Iranian national team does not participate in the tournament. So far, the Iranian national team has not been officially banned, but due to the escalation of the international political situation, the team's participation in the tournament held in the USA remains uncertain.

If Iran withdraws from the World Cup or its participation becomes impossible, FIFA will have to determine a team to replace them. In this case, inviting the Russian national team to the tournament is being considered as one of the options.

It is known that the 2026 FIFA World Cup is planned to be held with the participation of 48 teams. Experts emphasize that this issue has not yet been officially confirmed and the decision can only be made by FIFA.
