Vinicius was considered a main contender for the 2024 Ballon d'Or award. However, the award unexpectedly went to Rodri.

Real Madrid was displeased with this decision and boycotted the award ceremony. Vinicius still seems to remember this incident and does not want to play alongside the Spanish footballer.
