Xavi Reveals Disagreements with Barcelona President

Former head coach of Barcelona football club Xavi Ernandes spoke openly and directly about the disagreements he had with club president Joan Laporta after his tenure ended. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Spanish specialist emphasized that a special campaign was organized against him through mass media by the club management. According to Xavi, the president secretly met with players and spread unfounded and false information that the coach intended to sell them.
This situation seriously negatively affected the atmosphere within the team, causing suspicion and dissatisfaction among the players. The coach paid special attention to the situation involving prominent players such as Sergi Roberto, Jules Araujo, Pedri, and Rafinha.
He stressed that he never intended to force these players to leave and that he did not have a list of players to be sold. Xavi said he only discussed one transfer issue but would not disclose the name out of courtesy.
He called Laporta’s statements about planning to dismiss ten players from the team completely unfounded and false. In an interview with La Vanguardia, Xavi particularly noted that dishonest people cannot be trusted.
The 46-year-old specialist, who managed Barcelona from 2021 to 2024, won the Spanish championship and the national super cup during his tenure. However, disagreements with the club management led to his resignation.
Earlier, Xavi had revealed that he was very close to bringing Lionel Messi back in 2023, but Laporta stopped this transfer. These statements further complicate the situation around Barcelona and raise questions about the future.
