Laporta Blamed Xavi for Failing to Balance Family Life and Work

Barcelona FC president Joan Laporta expressed sharp criticism towards his former coach Xavi Hernandez during an official debate held ahead of upcoming elections. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The club leader accused Xavi of failing to properly balance family life and work throughout his tenure. Additionally, Laporta emphasized that the former coach was constantly in a state of dissatisfaction and viewed the team's competitiveness in Europe with skepticism.
According to the president, Xavi was always dissatisfied with the squad composition, which negatively impacted the internal atmosphere at the club. During the debate, there was also extensive discussion about claims that Lionel Messi's return to the club in 2023 was blocked.
Xavi Hernandez stated that although the giant star intended to return to Barcelona, Laporta hindered the transfer due to fear of political pressure. However, the club president refuted this and spoke about negotiations conducted with Messi's father, Jorge Messi.
Laporta ultimately revealed that the player himself chose Inter Miami to escape pressure. At the same time, Joan Laporta also engaged in sharp debates with his rival Victor Font.
Font accused the club leadership of severing ties with one of the greatest players in history. The president, defending sporting director Deco, warned that Font's future plans could negatively affect the work of current coach Hansi Flick.
For his part, current coach Flick prefers not to get involved in these internal conflicts and strives to maintain team unity. Source: goal.com
