Real Madrid May Offer Pochettino the Head Coach Position

Real Madrid football club is planning to review its head coaching staff before the start of the new season. Zamin.uz reported this.
According to an ESPN source, the club's management is seriously considering offering the position to renowned Argentine specialist Mauricio Pochettino, who currently manages the United States national team. The future of current head coach Alvaro Arbeloa remains uncertain, a situation that has drawn significant attention within the club.
It is worth noting that Real appointed Alvaro Arbeloa to replace Xabi Alonso on January 12. However, the contract duration and other important details were not announced at that time.
Reports indicate that the current coach must achieve an extremely high result to retain his position for the next season. Experts believe that merely good performances or minor victories may not be sufficient.
The club's management expects the team to win a major trophy in competitions such as the Champions League. If the team fails to secure this major prize, Alvaro Arbeloa may face serious difficulties in keeping his job.
At the same time, it is said that the club aims not to completely remove the head coach from the system. If he does not remain with the main team, he could be offered another responsible role within the club.
For instance, there are plans to return him to the position of head coach for Castilla, Real's reserve team. Mauricio Pochettino is not a random choice for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
This specialist was frequently mentioned by Madrid's management after leading Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019. Pochettino is regarded as a coach with experience working at major clubs, capable of delivering results under high pressure and possessing a strong understanding of tournament psychology.
This event may not be limited to the coaching staff alone. The position of the club's chief scout, Xuni Kalafat, could also be at risk.
Although he maintains a good relationship with Florentino Perez, if the team goes trophyless for a second consecutive season, this friendship may not be enough to keep him. Thus, the remainder of the season in Madrid will be considered a period of real testing rather than just ordinary football matches.
Arbeloa needs a major victory to stay, while the management is simultaneously reviewing other candidates. If Real remains without a major trophy, it cannot be ruled out that changes will extend beyond just one position.
