Uzbek Boxers Win at the Futures Cup Tournament in Bangkok

The Futures Cup international youth boxing tournament is currently underway with great intensity in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Zamin.uz reports on this.
The good news is that both of our national teams are participating in this prestigious competition, and our young athletes are demonstrating strong character and courage in the ring. Yesterday's schedule featured five of our representatives, and most of their bouts ended in victory.
These results once again confirmed the strength of our national team. The future of our region, Bekzod Ismoiljonov from the -55 kg weight category, stepped into the ring against Colombian Ruben Nagles and resolved the contest in a very short time.
Our compatriot gave his opponent almost no chance and secured a confident victory with a unanimous 5:0 decision from all five judges. This success further boosted Ismoiljonov's confidence in the tournament, creating high expectations for him in subsequent rounds.
Another bright result of the day was associated with the name Sayidxojayev. He advanced to the next round by defeating Paraguayan Ian Bertxomiyer via technical knockout in the second round.
A technical knockout is not just a victory, but a clear demonstration of the boxer's strong preparation and dominance in the ring. Abdug'ani Yorqinjonov also continued his steady progress, defeating Italian Imad Bouraouian 5:0 in the -50 kg weight class and reaching the quarterfinals.
Thus, he has moved even closer to fighting for medals. Unfortunately, not all bouts ended as we wished.
In the -60 kg weight category, Bobomurod Boymirzayev lost to Kazakh Dosjan Jumaxan with a score of 1:4 based on the judges' decisions and bid farewell to the competition. This tournament serves as a great school of experience, and this defeat will help Boymirzayev draw necessary conclusions for future starts.
Another victory from yesterday's program was recorded in the -65 kg weight category. Ibrohim Shokirjonov easily defeated the host country's boxer, Nattajakkapan Ditpoon.
Defeating an opponent who stepped into the ring on home soil with such a confident score always holds special value. Thus, our boxers won four out of the five bouts yesterday, while one ended in defeat.
The Uzbekistan Boxing Federation reports on this. In short, Uzbek youth have made excellent progress at the Futures Cup in Bangkok and demonstrated that our team's preparation is far from bad.
Now, the main thing is to maintain this spirit and intensity in the upcoming rounds.
