Our boxers advanced to the quarterfinals in Bangkok

The Futures Cup international youth boxing tournament is currently in full swing in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Zamin.uz reported on this.
Two groups from the Uzbekistan national teams are actively participating in this prestigious competition, testing their strength. To date, a total of twelve of our athletes have stepped into the ring and held intense bouts.
Among them were both experienced boxers and young talents with a bright future. According to the tournament schedule, Maftuna Musurmonova defeated her Mexican opponent Athena Juarez by a unanimous five-to-zero decision in the 48 kg weight category, advancing to the quarterfinals.
At the same time, Rushanabonu Isoyeva also defeated US representative Kaylee Aguilar by a unanimous five-to-zero decision in the 60 kg weight category, securing her place in the next round. Bekzod Ismoiljonov achieved victory in the 55 kg weight category by knocking out German boxer Calvin Mattern via technical knockout in the first round.
Sayidxo'ja Sadillaxo'jayev suffered a defeat by a split decision with a score of four-to-one against English boxer Michael Maugan in the 70 kg weight category. Nazokat Mardonova celebrated her victory by defeating Chih Yen Kuoni from Chinese Taipei with a unanimous five-to-zero decision in the 51 kg weight category.
Maftuna Yangiyeva missed her opportunity, losing by a split decision with a score of two-to-one against American Marley McNeal in the 70 kg weight category. Samira Turg'unova defeated Romanian Andreea Timeea Tapu by a unanimous five-to-zero decision in the 75 kg weight category, advancing to the semifinals.
Ibrohim Shokirjonov concluded a tough fight against Italian Giuseppe Cavallo with a unanimous four-to-one decision in the 65 kg weight category. Suhrob Rahmatullayev also defeated American James Gentile by a unanimous five-to-zero decision in the 75 kg weight category.
Asilbek Abdusamadov lost to Kazakhstani Timur Taibekov by a unanimous one-to-zero decision in the 80 kg weight category, exiting the tournament. Islam Salikhov advanced to the final by knocking out Moroccan Mohamed Amine via technical knockout in the third round in the over 90 kg weight category.
According to the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, our athletes are fully demonstrating their potential in this competition. Their victories and experience are raising the name of our country even higher on the world stage.
