Joan Laporta to manage FC Barcelona for another five years

According to the reliable and publicly announced election results, Joan Laporta has been elected once again as the head of FC Barcelona. Zamin.uz reported on this.
His main rival, the well-known businessman Víctor Font, was significantly behind in terms of vote count and failed to achieve victory. After the election process concluded and all ballots were fully counted, Laporta secured 32,934 out of a total of 48,480 votes.
This figure represents 68.18% of the total votes. His rival, Víctor Font, received 14,385 votes and took second place with 29.78%.
Additionally, 984 people did not choose any of the temporary candidates, accounting for 2.04%. In conclusion, Laporta has been granted the right to manage the club for the next five years, until 2031.
For this 63-year-old executive, this marks his third term as president of Barcelona. He previously managed the club from 2003 to 2010 and then again from 2021 to 2026.
However, an interesting historical fact is that his new term could officially be considered the fourth. In 2006, based on a lawsuit filed by one of the club members, the court ruled that Laporta's first term, which began in 2003, had ended.
Although new elections were subsequently scheduled, they were not held because only Laporta gathered the necessary votes to register.
Thus, his second term began and concluded in 2010. Fans are very pleased with this news and look forward to the club's new five-year plans with hope and confidence.
Under Laporta's leadership, Barcelona is striving for new championships and victories. The football team is expected to once again successfully continue its activities in European and Spanish competitions.
This success, welcomed with great expectations, signifies the beginning of a new stage for the club's future. Source: one.uz
